Jordan is a country made up of different ethnicities, mostly Jordanian, but minorities of different ethnicities have been welcomed into the Jordanian family, these include Armenian, Circassian, Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian ethnicities. Most Jordanians are of Bedouin origins, also known as “the Bedu” or “desert dwellers”.
Hospitable, is just one word to describe Jordanians. You can also say they are warm, friendly and courteous. These traits are found in their strongest form in the Bedouin culture, they have been inherited generation after generation. When touring Jordan, foreigners will probably be invited several times for lunch or afternoon coffee, as food is commonly used by Jordanians to express their hospitality and generosity. Guests are welcomed with open arms and are treated with the utmost respect. They follow the words of the prophet Mohammad “whoever believes in God and the day of resurrection, must respect his guests”.
